"I first learned
about the Secret Garden from a segment shown on a Home and Garden TV television show
called "Extreme Homes." Over that last several years I have spent a lot
of time in Key West, but never discovered the garden. On my next visit to Key West I
went to the garden to see if it was as nice as the television program lead me to
believe. What I found was a paradise amidst the cement and tourism of the Key.
The minute you enter the garden the noise and confusion of the surrounding area falls
away. It's like taking a deep breath and immediate relaxation sets in. The beauty and diversity of the garden is enough to
pleasantly surprise even the most tropical garden-wise visitor. The garden is in the
form of a natural jungle as opposed to a plastic, "everything labeled" museum
setting. I had the privilege to view these rare tropical plants as they are or were
in their natural setting.
If you visit Key West you owe it to yourself to
see the Secret Garden! |
